Sudan prepares proposals for increased trade with Russia


The Department of Commerce will submit proposals for enhancing trade between Russia and Sudan at the negotiating table joint Ministerial Council in Khartoum in the coming weeks, said the head of the international relations Department of the Ministry of trade of Sudan Nafsiah Mohammed Ahmed.

KHARTOUM, 16 Dec. The Ministry of trade of Sudan intends to intensify exports of agricultural products to Russia proposals aimed at strengthening will be put forward at the meetings in Khartoum, there are plans for the organization of product exhibitions in Russia, said the Agency Sputnik, the head of the international relations Department of the Ministry of trade of Sudan Nafsiah Mohammed Ahmed.

“The Ministry of trade has prepared proposals for enhancing trade between the Russian Federation and the Sudan and will present them at the negotiating table joint Ministerial Council in Khartoum in the coming weeks,” she said.

According to her, the five-year economic program of the Sudan is mainly focused on increasing exports. “We will work on the promotion of Sudanese products through the organization of exhibitions in Russia,” said Ahmed, noting that, in its view, the organization of such exhibitions – the best way to promote.

Today’s trade of the Russian Federation and the Sudan, the head of Department described as “very small”. “Sudan now supplies in Russia sesame seeds, raw sugar, cotton. Relies on Russia for weapons, vehicles, some equipment,” said Ahmed, adding that the countries forged an economic agreement in 1991, and it once every three years updated.
