In Karelia for the first time fined a truck driver who did not pay the fare on the “Plato”


PETROZAVODSK, December 17. /Corr. Igor Lukyanov/. In Karelia the regional management of State road supervision for the first time fined a truck driver, who has not paid the Federal motorway system “Platon”. The fine amounted to five thousand roubles, have informed in a press-Department service.

“When testing on the stationary item weight control on 421 km highway “Cola” Rostransnadzor inspectors revealed the absence of the carrier from Estonia tolls on the Federal highway. The driver was sentenced to an administrative fine in the amount of five thousand rubles”, – said the Agency interlocutor, noting that “in Russia it is likely the first time”.

According to him, the driver of the truck more than 12 ton drove 570 km without charge in a system. “A vehicle belonging to a foreign carrier, was delayed pending the payment of the administrative penalty”, – said the representative of the Karelian management of Rostransnadzor.

About the system “Platon”

System “Platon”, providing the toll for trucks with a permissible maximum mass exceeding 12 tonnes for travel on Federal highways, are available from 15 November.

Until March 1, 2016, trucks to pay 1,53 rubles per kilometer, in the future, the rate will increase. The funds collected by the vehicle, proceed to the Federal road Fund will be allocated as grants on the Federal and regional road projects, including projects implemented on a public-private partnership.

Previously adopted amendments to the Code of administrative offences (Cao RF), according to which the movement of heavy trucks without paying on Federal roads subject to a penalty imposed on truck drivers of foreign road carriers, as well as the Russian owners of heavy trucks in the amount of five thousand rubles. In case of repeated offence the fine will be doubled.

According to Rosavtodor, in the “Plato” registered more than 70 thousand of transport companies and entrepreneurs with a total fleet size of more than 600 thousand cars (60% of vehicles weighing over 12 tonnes operating in the market of automobile cargo transportation).
