Kiev ban on trade with Crimea will not affect social goods


Prohibition of trade with Crimea will not affect the import into Ukraine of products of strategic importance to the economy and security mills products – bread, milk, pasta and bacon, said in a statement released on Thursday the decision of the Cabinet.

KYIV, 17 Dec. Ukraine from January 16, stops trade with Crimea, except for socially significant products, the ban will not apply to the import into Ukraine of products of strategic importance to the economy and security mills, said in a statement released on Thursday the decision of the Cabinet.

In the document on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers, in particular, indicated — to prohibit the supply of goods, works and services “under all customs regimes” from Crimea to Ukraine and from Ukraine to Crimea.

The exception would be personal belongings of citizens, as well as socially important products, which included bread, milk, pasta and bacon.

The ban does not affect the import into Ukraine of products of strategic importance to the economy and security mills.

Crimea and Sevastopol became the Russian regions after held there in March 2014 referendum in which the majority of residents were in favour of joining the Russian Federation. In Moscow underline that the referendum in Crimea complies with international law and the UN Charter. Ukraine considers Crimea as its temporarily occupied territory.
