Kyiv wants to enlarge access to EU markets after Russia’s decision on the FTA


After the Russian side announced the abolition of the free trade zone with Ukraine, the Kiev authorities have carried out the preparatory negotiations on the extension in the format of the Association Council the possibility of access of Ukrainian producers to European markets.

KYIV, 17 Dec. Ukraine held talks with its European partners to improve the access of Ukrainian goods to the EU markets in connection with Russia’s intention to cancel the free trade zone with Ukraine, said the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

“Yesterday, based on this Declaration of Russia, we conducted the preparatory negotiations on the extension in the format of the Association Council the possibility of access of Ukrainian producers to European markets. And received complete and an affirmative decision of our partners in the European Union”, — said Poroshenko during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels.
