The Duma on December 22, will consider the law to stop free trade with Ukraine


Moscow. December 17. The bill for the suspension of the free trade agreement with Ukraine, as Russian President Vladimir Putin, the state Duma will consider on December 22, said the first Deputy Chairman of the state Duma Ivan Melnikov.

“The President submitted the draft law on the suspension of the free trade agreement with Ukraine. It will be reviewed on December 22,” said reporters Melnikov.

According to him, the introduction of the bill on the Duma Council on Thursday said the representative of the President.

Yesterday President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on suspension from 1 January 2016 to the Treaty on the free trade area (FTA) in Ukraine.

The decree, published on the official Internet portal of legal information, signed “due to exceptional circumstances affecting the interests and economic security of the Russian Federation and require urgent measures,” he shall come into force from the date of signing.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation tasked with directing the Depositary and the parties to the agreement notice of suspension of his actions against Ukraine.

According to the legislation, the agreement on the FTA could be suspended by the President in requiring bestialita cases. In this case, the President is obliged to immediately inform about their decision, both houses of Parliament and submit it to the Duma.

The law on international treaties stipulates that if the lower house of Parliament rejects the draft decision on the suspension of the contract, its action is subject to immediate resumption.
