The Klintsevich: the position of the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian conflict is very clear

The President once again stressed that Russia, as no one else is interested in the detailed implementation of the Minsk agreements, said the first Deputy Chairman of the Committee on defense and security of the Federation Council Frants Klintsevich.

MOSCOW, 17 Dec. The West is so illogical, arguing for the extension of sanctions against Russia and linking them with the full implementation of the Minsk agreements, the position of Russia in the conflict in Ukraine is very clear, according to the first Deputy Chairman of the Committee on defense and security of the Federation Council Frants Klintsevich.

“It is unclear what other steps Russia expects the West, speaking on the extension of sanctions against our country to the full implementation of the Minsk agreements. Do they think that Russia should encourage the militias to agree to all the conditions of Kiev? Nonsense. The resolution of the internal Ukrainian conflict is possible only on the basis of goodwill, which will show both sides,” the Senator said to reporters.

Noting that at the press conference the Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined Russia’s position on Ukraine’s internal conflict, Klintsevich stressed that it “is very clear and leaves no room for misunderstandings”.

“The President once again stressed that Russia, as no one else is interested in the detailed implementation of the Minsk agreements, which, in fact, she had initiated. The matter rests in the apparent reluctance of Kiev to somehow move towards his opponents in the South-East of Ukraine in the political sphere”, — said the Senator.
