Moscow. December 18. Russia at the summit of the Eurasian economic Union invite my colleagues to take joint action to minimize the consequences in connection with the commencement of free trade area between Ukraine and the EU, reported in the Kremlin.
As stated to journalists by the Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, the summit of the EAEC imposed “the issue of minimizing negative consequences for the countries-members of the Eurasian Union from the beginning of the operation, from 1 January 2016 a free trade zone Ukraine – EU”.
He also reminded that on 16 December President of the Russian Federation signed a decree on suspension of the Treaty on free trade zone with Ukraine, and from 1 January 2016 instead of the FTA in respect of Ukrainian goods to apply preferential treatment.
“Will set out our position on the talks held by the European Commission. Aware of the failure of these negotiations, and failed to reach acceptable for Russia decisions. This entire complex of issues and will be discussed at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian economic Council”, – said the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.
