Google and Apple, according to unofficial information, are working to migrate their servers in the Russian Federation

MOSCOW, December 21. Internet giants Google and Apple, according to unofficial information, are working to migrate their servers in the Russian Federation. This was stated to journalists by the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov on the sidelines of the Russian forum “the Internet economy”.

“Facebook and Google we still said nothing. According to the information, as it is called, bellow the line, that is, as informal, we know that both Google and Apple are working on localizing databases in Russia”, – he said.

Thus Zharov found it difficult to provide information on the social networks Facebook and Twitter. “About Facebook and Twitter while you can not say anything. Get time, will check and find out this,” he said.

A law requiring to store personal data of Russians in Russia, was passed by the Parliament and entered into force on 1 September 2015.
