Moscow. December 21. Chinese authorities ordered to stop or limit 2.1 thousand enterprises in Beijing and the suburbs in emergency measures to fight smog, according to the Japanese newspaper Japan Times.
In Beijing last Saturday for four days was introduced the maximum of four possible levels of environmental risk.
To reduce emissions, the city government also halved automobile traffic, making an exception only for buses, taxis, cars “first aid” and other vehicles of emergency services, as well as for electric vehicles.
In addition, the city authorities recommended to Beijing to close schools and kindergartens on Monday and Tuesday.
Western media, in turn, note that this is the second since 2013, case when Beijing authorities introduced the maximum level of risk due to air pollution in the Chinese capital.
