MOSCOW, 21 Dec. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed to discuss at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian economic Council at the level of heads of States the issue of further development of the Association in terms of creating the TRANS-Pacific partnership (TPP).
“Probably on the High Council we need to talk about how the Eurasian Union to develop further in the conditions when there create a Transatlantic (the agreement between the EU and the U.S. — ed.), here is the TRANS — Pacific… we have too moments that we have to solve”, — said Nazarbayev at the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The head of Kazakhstan noted that trade between the EEU member countries declined, but open borders and joint ventures continue to play an important role. He also noted that the intergovernmental Commission of the Russian Federation-Kazakhstan is doing very well.
Speaking about the meeting of the collective security Council of the CSTO, Nazarbayev added that it is planned to discuss the participation of Russia in operations in Syria, and the Turkish question.
The Eurasian economic Union created in 2014 on the basis of the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. In addition, the EEU now includes Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The Union is engaged in regional economic integration and operates on the basis of norms and WTO principles. In the framework provide for the free movement of goods, services, capital and labour, carried out coordinated policy in key sectors of the economy.
