The Ministry will support the proposal of Sberbank about opening online accounts

Moscow. December 21. The Ministry of economic development may support the suggestion of the savings Bank to open accounts for corporate clients on electronic copies of documents in case of revision of this proposal, said a source in the financial-economic bloc of the government.

According to the source, the corresponding position of the Ministry outlined in the letter from Deputy economic development Minister Nikolay Podguzov, sent to the Ministry of Finance.

In particular, the letter draws attention to the fact that the savings Bank proposes to make amendments to the law “On countering the legalization (laundering) of incomes received by criminal way, and terrorism financing”.

Earlier, a source reported that the head of Sberbank German Gref sent a letter to the first Vice-Premier Igor Shuvalov with the request to allow legal entities and individual entrepreneurs to open Bank accounts for electronic copies of documents.

Gref proposes to make changes to the Tax code, the laws “On banks and banking activity” and “On countering the legalization (laundering) of waste received by a criminal way, and terrorism financing”. The changes should allow companies to submit to the Bank in electronic form of documents required for account opening.

In mid-December, Vice-President of Sberbank Andrei Sharov told reporters that Sberbank plans in 2016 to go to online opening of accounts for clients from small businesses.
