“From 1 January 2016 in respect of Ukraine will be applied import duties under the common customs tariff of the EEU, that is, Ukraine will apply the most favoured nation treatment without any exceptions. All preferences go in the past, benefits will not” – said Putin at a meeting with his deputies.

The Prime Minister reminded that earlier the President of Russia has signed the decree about stay of action in respect of Ukraine to the Treaty on the free trade zone, according to which all Ukrainian goods, except sugar, were imported to Russia without customs duties.
“Now this situation in the past. This decision was made due to the fact that Ukraine has stated that starting in 2016 implements the economic part of the Association agreement with the EU. Were conducted several rounds of negotiations, but they have not given, – he said. – Both Ukraine and the EU not ready to sign a legally binding agreement that would take into account the interests of the Russian Federation”.
