Vladimir Ilyukhin: the Development of fisheries requires new vessel designs

A serious problem for the development of shipbuilding fishing and passenger fleet in Russia was the lack of projects of the Russian vessels, said the Governor of Kamchatsky Krai Vladimir Ilyukhin.

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, 21 Dec. A serious problem for the development of shipbuilding fishing and passenger fleet in Russia was the lack of projects of the Russian vessels, said the Governor of Kamchatsky Krai Vladimir Ilyukhin.

“This is the most pressing problem, speaking honestly. Today the production in the far East there is in the country to perform the orders of the military-the Navy, the oil industry. But not a single new project in the field of construction of fishing fleet, the transport fleet. Therefore the main task is to find the types of vessels that will be of interest to our local fisheries and transport companies,” — said Ilyukhin.

According to the Governor, fishing vessels should be modern, energy efficient and affordable. First of all, it is necessary to develop a classification of the types of vessels that meet the requirements of companies from Kamchatsky Krai and other fishing regions.

The government of Kamchatka will soon send their proposals to several Federal agencies — the Ministry of industry and trade, the Ministry of transport and the Federal Agency for fishery, Ilyukhin said.
