Inflation in Russia in November accelerated to 0.8% in the EU prices decreased by 0.1%


In October, inflation in Russia was at the level of 0.7% in September to 0.6%, said Wednesday Rosstat. It noted that in the European Union in October and September inflation was at 0.1%.

MOSCOW, 22 Dec. The rate of growth of consumer prices in Russia in November accelerated to 0.8% from 0.7% in October, this time in the European Union (EU), prices declined by 0.1% against the rise by 0.1% last month, said Tuesday Rosstat.

“In Russia, consumer prices increased in comparison with October by 0.8% (average EU prices decreased by 0.1%), for the period from the beginning of the year by 12.1% (EU average – increased by 0.2 per cent)”, — stated in the message.

Meanwhile, in October, inflation in Russia was at the level of 0.7% in September to 0.6%. In the European Union in October and September inflation was at 0.1%.

In November 2015, among the foreign countries the largest increase in consumer prices compared with the previous month was observed in Kazakhstan (3.7%), Ukraine (2%) and Brazil (1%); with the beginning of the year – Ukraine (by 42.3%), Kazakhstan (12.3%), Belarus (10.7%).

In a number of EU countries, Canada, USA, Korea and Switzerland saw a decrease in consumer prices compared with the previous month. However, in some countries food is more expensive, the most noticeable increase was in Cyprus (1.2%), in Latvia, Finland, Malta (0.5-0.8%). In Russia in November, prices for food products increased compared with the previous month by 1.3% (in the EU fell 0.1%); for the period from the beginning of 2015. – 12.7% (in the EU increased by 0.6%).
