Expert: US sanctions will not reduce sales of the Crimean champagne

America, imposing sanctions, denies its citizens the opportunity to purchase their favorite wine, said the Director of state unitary enterprise “Massandra” Yanina Pavlenko.

SIMFEROPOL, December 23. The imposition of sanctions against the “New world” without sacrificing the Economics of the enterprise, but will deprive connoisseurs of classical Crimean champagne the possibility to buy the famous drink, said the Director of state unitary enterprise “Massandra” Yanina Pavlenko, for many years head of the factory of sparkling wines “New world”.

On Tuesday, the US extended sanctions list against Russia, in which only the Crimean winery “Novy Svet”, “Massandra” and “Magarach”.

“Economically we have nothing to lose. But in America live a lot of immigrants of Russian origin who know and love our products (products of the “New world” – ed.). And today, they deprive their citizens of the opportunity to purchase their favorite wine,” — said Pavlenko.

She recalled that “New Light” and “Massandra” has already got in the sanctions list of the EU, but with the huge Russian market restrictions had no effect on the economy of enterprises. However, the mere fact of their introduction unclear for Crimean winemakers.

“Both plants are Russian, were created in tsarist times by Prince Golitsyn. In any case the sanctions are of no use to anyone not brought. Why were the wineries – it’s hard for me to comment. I believe that they limit their markets for our wines,” — said Pavlenko.

State winery of the Crimea “New world” and “Massandra” was first included in the sanction list of the European Union in July 2014 — three months after the Crimea and Sevastopol became the result of the referendum of the Russian Federation.
