KamAZ entered non-commercial partnership “GLONASS”


Joint work will be aimed at formation and development of ecosystems and navigational information services for owners and drivers of the Russian Trucks in the first place, based on the capabilities of the system “ERA-GLONASS”, said the partnership’s President Alexander Gurko.

MOSCOW, 23 Dec. The Russian manufacturer of trucks KAMAZ became part of the nonprofit partnership “GLONASS”, Federal network operator in sphere of navigation activity, said the partnership’s President Alexander Gurko at the meeting with journalists.

“Areas of common interests of the NP “GLONASS” and PJSC “KAMAZ” are the increased use of information, navigation and telecommunication technologies in the Russian automotive transport, the improvement of the legislative and technical regulation in this field, organization of pilot projects for working out technical solutions and equipment”, — said Gurko.

According to him, joint work will be aimed at formation and development of ecosystems and navigational information services for owners and drivers of the Russian Trucks in the first place, based on the capabilities of the system “ERA-GLONASS”.

The partnership was formed on 21 may 2012 with the aim of developing and implementing products and services on the basis of GLONASS technologies in Russia and abroad. NP “GLONASS” brings together leaders of the telecommunications, information and navigation markets of Russia and leading integrators: LLC “Yandex”, PJSC “MTS”, JSC “VimpelCom”, JSC “MegaFon”, JSC “Rostelecom”, the Association “GLONASS/GNSS – Forum”, LLC “Summa Telecom”, JSC “Navigation-information systems”, JSC “Kronstadt” GC “Cesar Satellite”, JSC “control Systems”, FSUE “Zashitainfotrans”, Russian Telecom equipment company (RTEC), JSC “GLONASS”, JSC “Group T1” and PJSC “KAMAZ”.

The main objectives of the partnership — integrating efforts of state and navigation for a competitive business development and scale of Russian navigation market, as well as forming and conducting a unified technical policy in the navigation field.
