Russia and Iran will encourage mutual investment


During the negotiations of the first Vice-Premier of Russia Igor Shuvalov with representatives of the Iranian government, the parties will discuss prospects of trade and economic relations, issues of cooperation, will discuss customs and phytosanitary cooperation.

MOSCOW, 23 Dec. First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov on Wednesday in Tehran to hold talks with representatives of the Iranian government on mutual investments between the two countries, told journalists the representative of the Secretariat Shuvalov.

Shuvalov will meet with the first Vice President of Iran Ashcom Jahangiri, and will hold talks with Chairman of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental Commission, Minister of communications and information technology Mahmoud Vaezi.

“The sides will discuss prospects for Russian-Iranian trade and economic relations, issues of cooperation in different industries, will consider the proposals on customs and phytosanitary cooperation between the two countries”, — said the representative of the Secretariat Shuvalov.

He noted that the Russian and Iranian producers and exporters Selhozholding products there are particular possibilities of cooperation.

In addition, it is planned that the representatives of the Russian and Iranian delegations will be signed in Tehran an agreement on the promotion and protection of investments and a Protocol on cooperation between the veterinary services. The conclusion of this agreement and of the Protocol should be a positive factor for the business community of both countries and a stable signal for fostering the investment cooperation, said the representative of Shuvalov.
