Moscow. December 23. Labor Minister of Russia Maxim Topilin said that the government will take several years to begin to introduce a gradual increase in the retirement age in Russia.
“We need about two years, three years, to weigh, to count, to see, to discuss. So I think it will be (increased retirement age) still in this perspective”, – said Topilin in an interview with TV channel “Russia 24” aired on Wednesday.
The Minister stressed that raising the retirement age is largely due to the increasing life expectancy of the population, and the question of retirement must be raised.
However, he noted that such a decision would be taken only after a long discussion with civil society.
