The U.S. Embassy explained the extension of sanctions against Moscow


Moscow. December 23. The extension of sectoral sanctions Washington against Moscow seeks to harmonize the sanctions lists of the USA and the EU, said at the American Embassy in the Russian Federation.

“Today’s action we have made a list of a number of physical and legal persons listed in the sanctions list of the EU”, – said Tuesday the press attaché of the American Embassy in Moscow will Stevens.

The Embassy said that the harmonisation of the lists of Washington and Brussels “provides a situation in which business representatives of the US and the EU play by the same rules”. “Harmonization of our sanctions lists reduces the burden on the private sector,” said Stevens.

In the list of sectoral sanctions (with far less stringent restrictions) added “daughter” of Sberbank, VTB, including VTB 24, “Rostec” and “Yandex.Money.”
