Jailed in the US Konstantin Yaroshenko asked the doctors of the red cross for help

NEW YORK, December 24. /Corr. Ivan Sawyers/. Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, who is serving a U.S. prison sentence, wrote a letter to the international Committee of the red cross (ICRC) with the request to help him get medical care. On Thursday announced the lawyer of the Russian citizen Alexei Tarasov.

The message Yaroshenko, who is suffering from a number of chronic diseases, describes the state of his health and notes that the prison medical care is not provided. He also requested that he was allowed independent physicians.

“This letter relatives Yaroshenko either already passed, or will soon be transferred to the ICRC,” said the lawyer.

The answer to the arguments of the Prosecutor’s office

Protection Yaroshenko sent Thursday to the court its reply to the arguments of the Prosecutor’s office, who asked not to review the case of Russian.

“Our main thesis is the same as we have advanced earlier, the lawyer said Yaroshenko Alexey Tarasov. – First of all, we are talking about the fact that the prosecution in its reply to the appeal Yaroshenko entirely ignores the significance of this case for relations between the U.S. and Russia, particularly in regard to law enforcement cooperation”.

The Prosecutor’s office for the southern district of the U.S. state of new York on December 9 filed an answer to the appeal on defence motion for Yaroshenko on the need for a new trial in the case. In document 30 sheets rejected all the arguments in favor of reconsideration of the criminal cases that had previously presented to the court in new York lawyers for the Russian, and also Russian Federation.

Yaroshenko was convicted on 7 September 2011. In the U.S. he was taken from Liberia, where he was arrested on may 28, 2010. The undercover agents of the U.S. service on fight against drug trafficking allegedly caught the pilot of criminal intent on the transportation of large quantities of cocaine. This case was the first time that American intelligence agencies have seized on the territory of a third country of a Russian citizen and secretly brought it to the US.
