The Prime Minister of India Narendra modi has arrived yesterday to Moscow with two-day official visit. Thursday in the Grand Kremlin Palace will host large Russian-Indian talks.

MOSCOW, 24 Dec. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin presented gifts to the Prime Minister of India Narendra modi after an informal dinner in the Kremlin on Wednesday night — handwritten page from the diary of Mahatma Gandhi and Bengal a sword from the 18th century that belonged to the Najafi dynasty.

Modi arrived yesterday to Moscow with two-day official visit. On Wednesday evening, the leaders met in the format of an informal dinner alone. Thursday in the Grand Kremlin Palace will host large Russian-Indian talks.

“President Putin gave me a page from the diary of Gandhi “Bapu” (“father of the nation” — an affectionate appellation Gandhi – ed.) with writing. President Putin also gave the sword of the 18th century from Bengal, elaborately decorated with silver. I thank him for the gifts,” modi wrote in his microblog on Twitter, accompanying his words with photos.

“The sword of Bengal from the 18th century that belonged to the Najafi dynasty, given to me by Putin,” — said the Indian Prime Minister one of the photos.
