MOSCOW, December 24. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has urged large Russian business to participate in the development of proposals on a possible economic partnership between the countries of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU), Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

He stated this at a meeting with heads of leading Russian companies.
“This is a huge market. I ask you also to prepare proposals for the configuration of this cooperation, the tasks of such a possible Association,” said the President to the representatives of big business and state companies.
Earlier this month, in his address to the Federal Assembly, Putin proposed the Eurasian economic Union countries to begin consultations with members of the SCO and ASEAN, as well as with States that join the SCO, on the formation of a possible economic partnership. In his view, such a partnership at the initial stage could focus on the issues of investment protection, streamlining procedures for the movement of goods across borders, joint development of technical standards for the production of the next technology generation, on the reciprocal opening of market access services and capital.
