Rosselhoznadzor from January 1, has banned the import of pork from Ukraine due to ASF


Moscow. December 24. The Rosselkhoznadzor introduces from 1 January temporary restrictions on deliveries to Russia pork products from the entire territory of Ukraine, said the Agency.

“The reason for that was the worsening of epizootic situation in Ukraine due to African swine fever, which indicates the spread of the virus in the wild fauna, insufficient scale wildlife monitoring studies, and failure to produce comprehensive information on the situation of ASF in the territory of different regions of Ukraine”, – is told in the message.

Restrictions apply to live pigs, their genetic material, pork and raw pork products, meat of wild boars, horn and hoof and leather, intestinal materials, bristles, finished products containing pork, feed and feed additives for pigs.

According to the report, in Thursday, the Deputy head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Yevgeny Nepoklonov during telephone conversations informed the Chairman of the State veterinary and phytosanitary service of Ukraine Alexander Versionscope about the ban, “explaining in detail the reasons for such action.”
