SF has extended the transition period for producers of alcohol in the Crimea


Requirements on equipment the main equipment for the production of liqueur wines with a protected geographical indication, protected designation of origin and the wine produced from their own grapes will begin only from 2018.

MOSCOW, 25 Dec. Senators approved the law, which extends the transition period for manufacturers and sellers of alcohol in the Republic of Crimea and city of Sevastopol.

Legal entity established in the Crimea until 1 January 2015 to 1 January 2018 used for the production of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products rented the basic equipment. Prior to that date, such persons may also have manufacturing and warehouse facilities, term of lease less than one year.

The requirement of outfitting the main technological equipment for the production of liqueur wines with a protected geographical indication, protected designation of origin and the wine produced from their own grapes, automatic means for measuring and recording the volume of finished products in the Crimea will not take effect until 2018.

On January 1, 2017 postponed the introduction of regulations requiring businesses engaged in the retail sale of alcohol in Crimea, to own property, economic maintaining, operational management or lease, the date which is one year or more stationary retail facilities and warehouses with a total area of not less than 50 square meters in urban areas and not less than 25 square meters in rural areas.

The state authorities of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol till January 1, 2017 given the right to determine the amount of the total area of the stationary retail stores and warehouses organizations engaged in the retail sale of alcoholic beverages in the Crimean Federal district.
