The ex-mayor of Petrozavodsk intends to achieve cancellation of the decision about resignation in court


MOSCOW, December 25. The former mayor of Petrozavodsk Galina Shirshina intends to challenge the resignation in court. She reported about it on air of radio station “Russian news serving”.

“I am definitely going to challenge the decision in court. This decision concerns not only me, but also of the entire administration during the entire period that I was on a post of the mayor of Petrozavodsk. This decision is important for other heads of municipal entities in the Russian Federation. Claims of deputies unreasonable,” said she.

Deputies of the city Council of Petrozavodsk was sent on Friday the mayor Galina Shirshina to resign for dereliction of duties within three and more months. Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen has expressed its consent to the resignation of the mayor.

Claims of deputies to the mayor, set out on pages 68, Galina Shirshina called “dummy”. She left the courtroom immediately after the vote, wished the MPs “good job”. Previously, she also stated it will challenge the decision of deputies in court.

The independent candidate Galina Shirshina was elected for five years by the mayor of Petrozavodsk, September 8, 2013 with the support of the regional branch of the party “Yabloko”. She scored 41.9 per cent votes ahead of the incumbent mayor Nikolay Levin (“United Russia”.
