MOSCOW, 25 Dec –. The Federation Council in 2016, will focus on the legislative support of the tasks set by the President in address to the Federal Assembly, said the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko at the close of the autumn session of the chamber on Friday.
“We need to focus on legislative support of the tasks set by the President in address to the Federal Assembly. Such as the modernization of the economy, the rise of free enterprise and productivity, the formation of the modern system of technology assessment, the involvement of unused agricultural land and other”, — said the speaker.
According to her, the relevant proposals of the committees of the Federation Council has developed, they agreed yesterday at a meeting of the Board of the chamber approved. Senators also approved a list of instructions for the implementation of the message of the President of the Russian Federation for the next year.
Matvienko noted that world events have forced us to look at economic issues within the country. “We have learned to use sanctions as an additional incentive to resolve long-standing problems in our economy,” she added.
A good example of effective interaction with the government and the state Duma was the work of senators on the Federal budget. “Despite the severe constraints, we have adopted a balanced budget, which includes funds for strengthening the defense of the state, the fulfillment of social obligations, creation of conditions for economic growth,” said Matvienko.
