Israel authorized the export of gas to Egypt


Moscow. December 28. The Israeli government last week authorized the export of Israeli gas to Egypt totaling approximately $1 billion, according to the Qatar TV channel Al Jazeera with reference to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Aharonoth.

According to the publication, in accordance with the terms of the transaction between two private companies in Egypt will export about 5 billion cubic meters of gas over 7 years, with annual supply volumes will vary depending on the needs.

The resolution of the government of Israel relates to contract which was signed in March 2015, the consortium of companies developing the Tamar gas field in the Mediterranean sea, Egyptian and non-state trading and industrial group Dolphinos.

The decision to export was made after consultations held by the Minister of energy of Israel Yuval Steinitz with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Received from the Israeli government consent to export gas to Egypt marks a development in the coming years, economic cooperation with the countries of the region, such as Jordan, Greece, Turkey and European countries”, – quotes the edition of an Israeli Minister.

Yedioth Aharonoth recalls that the Israeli leadership for the second time authorizes gas exports: in April, the first approval of the deal to supply gas to address one of the Jordanian companies.
