The volume of transport between Russia and China through the point “Grodekovo-Sujfenhe” in 2015, increased by 5%

The volume of traffic between Russia and China through railway border crossing point “Grodekovo-Sujfenhe” in 2015, increased by 4.9% and reached 7.8 million tons. Passenger traffic through this crossing has reached 167 thousand people in both directions, which is almost twice the level of last year. As reported in the press service of the far Eastern line, reported on 28 December in Khabarovsk at a meeting of the leadership of the far Eastern railway (far) and the Harbin railway.

“It is noted that in 2015, according to preliminary data, the volume of international traffic between Russia and China through railway border checkpoint Grodekovo – Suifunhe will be 7.8 million tons, exceeding by 4.9% in the same period last year. Growth of export traffic by 7.3%. Volume imported into the territory of Russia of goods decreased by 49.4%”, – quotes the press service listed on the meeting data.

The growth was observed due to transport of ore, coal, container cargo. Further development of route specialists associated with the development of Olekminsky ore deposits in the Amur region and the Elga coal mine in Yakutia, as well as with the development of the transport corridor “Primorye-1” that connects the Northern province of China with ports on the Eastern coast of Primorye.

“The development of ITC “Primorye-1″ will be one of the key areas of joint work in the next year.” – noted in far, noting that in 2014 the route was sent the first trial shipment containers, and this year carried 253 of the container.
