Egypt has offered Russia to substitute imports of agricultural products from Turkey


Moscow. December 29. Egypt wants to increase the supply of plant products to the Russian market due to the fact that Russia since January 1, imposes restrictions on imports of agricultural products from Turkey.

The head of the Central administration of plant quarantine Ministry of agriculture and land reclamation of Egypt Saad Moussa, invited the Rosselkhoznadzor experts to visit places of growing of regulated products and to get acquainted with the established in Egypt a system of phytosanitary control.

The supply of food were discussed in the framework of negotiations between representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Ministry of agriculture of Egypt, informed the Rosselkhoznadzor.

The Russian veterinary service said that the Egyptian side must to update the list of companies that want to export to Russia products of high phytosanitary risk by excluding providers who systematically violate the phytosanitary requirements of Russia.

Moussa said the Egyptian party shall inform the Rosselkhoznadzor about all issued phytosanitary certificates for products supplied to Russia.

He also said that Egypt this year plans to import 3 million tonnes of Russian grain. In the 2014-2015 marketing year (July-June) Egypt imported 3.6 million tons of Russian wheat.
