MOSCOW, December 29. Free port of Vladivostok for 2016 should reach full capacity. This was announced by the representative of the RF President in the far Eastern Federal district, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev.

“As to when the port will reach its design capacity when a sufficient number of residents – not more than one year. During the year we have the port to promote, have to,” he said on air of TV channel “Russia 24”.

“Residents just appeared, the first projects are related to port activities. The construction of processing, storage areas, fridges for fish, logistics terminals. Undoubtedly, all this will develop,” he said. At the moment, according to Trutnev, there are 9 resident companies of the zone, which provides special customs regimes, tax and investment regulation.

Trutnev stressed that the Eastern economic forum, which will take place in Vladivostok in September of 2016, investors will have to say about the prospects of further development of the free port legislation.

The regime of the free port of Vladivostok was introduced on 12 October on the territory of 15 municipalities of Primorye: Vladivostok, Artem, Bolshoy Kamen, Nakhodka and Partizansk, Ussuriisk, Spassk-distant, Nadezhdinsky, Shkotovsky, Oktyabrsky, Partizansky, Border, Khasan, Khankaisky and Olginsky districts, including their marine waters. The total area of the territory, which covers economic area is 28.4 thousand square km it is home to 1.4 million people (75% of the population).

The number of newly created jobs is estimated at 84.7 thousand people – by 2021, 108 thousand people by 2025, 468,5 thousand people – by the year 2034.
