Dollar exchange rate exceeded 73 rubles for the first time since December 2014

MOSCOW, December 30. Dollar rate to ruble during trading on the Moscow exchange increased in comparison with level of closing previous trading at 82 cents to 73,02 ruble, surpassing the mark of 73 rubles for the first time since December 16, 2014.

The Euro gained 1.02 rubles and reached 80,02 rubles, exceeding a level of 80 rubles.

The Russian currency becomes cheaper after oil. The price of a futures contract with February delivery of Brent crude on London exchange ICE fell by 1.01% to 37,41 dollar per barrel.

“The ruble doesn’t seem as secure as before. In the last few sessions it has traded weaker than oil. In this regard, we see the resumption of growth of rouble cost of a barrel of oil from 2570 to 2700 rubles per barrel”, – said the expert of “BCS Express” Vasiliy Karpunin.
