Ministry of energy: state of emergency on the gas pipeline will not affect the supply to Turkey


Breakthrough of the main gas pipeline, which supplies “Blue stream”, took place on Friday. The accident did not cause effects on consumers, reported in the Ministry of energy.

MOSCOW, 8 Jan. Damage of the main gas pipeline “Pochinki – Izobilnoye”, which took place on Friday, will have no impact on the supply of Russian natural gas to Turkey via the gas transportation system “the Blue stream”, reported the press service of the Ministry of energy of the Russian Federation.

According to the Ministry of energy, January 8, at 05.55 at the settlement Olkhovka there has been damage to the main gas pipeline “Pochinki – Izobilnoye” (PJSC “Gazprom”) with a diameter of 1 400 mm from the ignition. At 0630 the fire is liquidated, victims are not present.

“At 09.50 emergency repair work is completed, the main gas pipeline “Pochinki – Izobilnoye” works”, — said the representative of the Ministry of energy.

According to the Agency, the accident did not cause effects on consumers.

“Restrictions on the transportation of gas by pipeline “Blue stream” not fixed”, — the Ministry informs.

Currently being investigated causes and circumstances of the incident.
