Although oil prices this year is difficult to predict, the Ministry expects that the trade turnover between Russia and Indonesia will not fall compared to year 2015.
JAKARTA, 8 Jan. The Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation expects in 2016 the preservation of trade with Indonesia at the level of last year — about $ 2 billion, told journalists the head of Department Denis Manturov.
“It’s hard to say, because it is difficult to predict what will be the price of oil, on which we depend. The price of oil fell, and this is reflected in the trade turnover between our countries. I hope that this year the turnover will not drop and will remain at the same level as in 2015”, — said the Minister, answering the journalists ‘ question about the forecast of trade turnover between the countries.
According to the Minister, last year data were available only for 9 months, that’s around 1.8 billion dollars. Total for 2015 is expected to be about two billion dollars, he added.
Between countries, the aim was to achieve an annual trade volume of five billion dollars in 2011, the Minister reminded. “Then the world economy was in a completely different state. Current oil prices do not give possibility in short time to achieve this figure. Now implement this goal can help us to focus on large joint investment projects”, — says Manturov.
