The richest people lost $194 billion during the first week of the year

Moscow. On 9 January. For the first trading week of the new year 400 richest people in the world lost in the aggregate $194 billion due to the decline of the Chinese economy and falling oil prices, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Week has become the worst in U.S. stock market since 2011.

For comparison, during the first five trading days 2015 total status of participants list of billionaires decreased by $29 billion.

The greatest loss – $5.9 billion – was suffered by the founder Jeff Bezos, occupying the fourth position in the list of the richest people in the world. The leader of the rating bill gates lost $4.5 billion, next on the list is Amancio Ortega has lost $3.4 billion

Total losses at $1 billion and above this week suffered 47 billionaires.

The total fortune of the members of the list of billionaires Bloomberg estimates at $3.7 trillion (roughly equal to Germany’s GDP) against $4 trillion a year ago.
