Media: the Russian delegation at the Davos forum in 2016 will be headed by Trutnev


The choice of Yuri Trutnev is due to the fact that the officer has a dual status: on the one hand, he is the representative of the President, with another – the government, “Vedomosti”. The world economic forum will be held from 20 to 23 January in Switzerland.

MOSCOW, 11 Jan. The Russian delegation at the world economic forum in Davos, Switzerland will be headed by Vice-Premier and presidential representative in the far East Yuri Trutnev, wrote on Monday newspaper “Vedomosti” referring to two Federal officials and the press Secretary of the Prime Minister Natalia Timakova.

In 2009, Russia in Davos was represented by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, in 2010, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, in 2011, President Dmitry Medvedev, in 2012, first Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, in 2013, Prime Minister Medvedev, in 2014, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and in 2015 — the first Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.

The Federal official explained to the newspaper the choice of the head of the delegation that Trutnev has a dual status: on the one hand, he is the representative of the President and with other governments. “Besides, he already has experience of participation in the activities of VEF – Trutnev represented Russia at the “summer Davos” in Dalian”, – quotes the edition of the interlocutor.

Timakova in conversation with the newspaper stressed that it is not lowering the status of delegation, and noted that in 2016 Russia will promote in Davos, Asia-Pacific and the agenda of the Russian far East economic forum. According to her, these practical problems will be to solve the Deputy Prime Minister. According look, Trutnev are scheduled to participate in the discussions related to the Asia-Pacific region and bilateral contacts.
