MOSCOW, January 11. The Russian delegation at the world economic forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland will be headed by the presidential envoy in the far East Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev. About this “Vedomosti” said two Federal officials, the information was confirmed by press Secretary of Prime Minister Natalia Timakova.
Last year, the Russian delegation was headed by first Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, a year before he is Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich. The forum organizers sent invitations to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to represent Russia in this year charged Trutnev, the newspaper notes.
As explained by the publication of a Federal official, commenting on the choice of the head of delegation, – on the one hand, Trutnev representative of the President, with another – the government. “Besides, he already has experience of participation in the activities of VEF – Trutnev represented Russia at the “summer Davos” in Dalian,” added he.
As noted Timakova, this is not a lowering of the status of the Russian delegation. According to her, this year, Russia will promote in Davos, Asia-Pacific and the agenda of the far Eastern economic forum, these practical problems will be solved and the Deputy Prime Minister. Timakova said that Trutnev are scheduled to participate in discussions on issues in the Asia-Pacific region, and bilateral contacts.
“The agenda of the visit are now being worked out,” – said “Vedomosti” representative of Deputy Prime Minister. As notes the edition, while in the official forum program is only one event with his participation – review session on 22 January. It is aimed to discuss the macroeconomy and low oil prices, new trading and investment firm in Asia, Russia’s role in the international security system.
