The former head of Petrozavodsk Galina Shirshina challenged the resignation in court


Deputies of the city Council of Petrozavodsk on December 25 voted for resignation of the mayor, explaining that she was not on duty. Galina Shirshina in turn applied to the court to appeal against decision.

MOSCOW, 11 Jan. The former head of Petrozavodsk Galina Shirshina sent deputies to resign at the end of December, appealed the decision of the city Council in court.

Deputies of the city Council of Petrozavodsk at the meeting of December 25, voted for resignation of mayor Galina Chisinau. The deputies explained its decision by saying that she had not performed their duties. Itself Shirshina consider the claims to be unfair and had previously stated that it intends to appeal the decision of the city Council.

“Today submitted an application to the court to appeal against the decision of the Petrozavodsk city Council about resignation”, — said on Monday Shirshina.

She explained that the main claim of the deputies was that it allegedly evaded from execution of duties of the mayor. As previously reported, the initiative group of deputies of the city Council signed and handed Chisinau appeal, which indicated non-execution “for three months or more duties under the decision of questions of local value”. In particular, according to deputies, the mayor had not fulfilled state authority for social security of children-orphans with housing, the city has not carried out activities to ensure the construction of a new municipal housing, was the General plan of Petrozavodsk. Document 68 sheets was signed by 23 deputies of the city Council.

“I don’t agree with it. In submitted to the court the statement of objections paragraph by paragraph. In addition, there are things that the lawyers believe violation of the procedures for removing the mayor to resign,” said former head.

She also said that in the near future will submit petitions to the city authorities, the bailiffs, the Ministry of education of the Republic of Karelia and a number of other services and authorities to provide information that will be read in court. “I intend to defend myself in detail and clearly,” said Shirshina.

Earlier, the press Secretary of the Petrozavodsk city Council Marina Kabatek said that if the former head of Petrozavodsk Galina Shirshina he will appeal his dismissal in court, there are two possible scenarios. If the court decides in favor of Chisinau, she will continue to lead the city. If the court finds the decision to dismiss the legitimate, will be created a special Commission consisting of deputies of the Petrograd Soviet and the representatives of the head of Karelia. The Commission will select the applicants for the position of city Manager. Then their nominations will be submitted for session of the city Council and by secret ballot, MPs will decide which candidates will be appointed as the city Manager of the city of Petrozavodsk.
