The RTS index for the first time since December 2014 has fallen below 700 points


Moscow. January 11. The RTS index, one of the main Russian stock indicators, under the close of trading Monday on the background of the collapse of oil fell below the milestone 700 points, the lowest level since December 2014.

18:15 Moscow time the RTS index amounted to 699,91 points (-5%), the MICEX index fell back to 1684,37 points (-3,7%), the main chips on the “Moscow exchange” fell by 3-6%.

The leaders of the rollback are the shares of LUKOIL (-4,8%), Magnit (-6,3%), “Mobile TeleSystems” (minus 4.6 per cent), “NorNickel” (-4,1%), “Rosneft” (-4,8%), Sberbank (-5,4%), “Tatneft” (-4,1%).

Futures for Brent oil for March on Monday fell to $32,92 per barrel (-3%), the price of WTI fell to $33,42 per barrel (of -2.6%).
