Volkswagen resumed building cars at the plant in Nizhny Novgorod

KALUGA, January 11. /Corr. Alevtina Zubrilina/. The German automaker Volkswagen from 11 January to resume car Assembly at its plant in Nizhny Novgorod, told the correspondent of TASS in the press service of “Volkswagen group Rus”.

“On 11 January at the company’s plant in Nizhny Novgorod after a corporate holiday, resume Assembly of cars”, – said there.

The production site of the automobile plant GAZ in Nizhny Novgorod was at corporate holiday from 14 of December until the end of 2015. The holiday period was used for the necessary updates on the production lines.

Another Volkswagen plant in Kaluga will resume Assembly of cars from 18 January. From 21 December 2015 the company is a corporate holiday. It also hosts the necessary updates on the production lines.

At GAZ’s facility in Nizhniy Novgorod organized the full cycle production of Skoda Yeti, Volkswagen Jetta and Skoda Octavia.

The plant in Kaluga Volkswagen produces the Volkswagen Polo Sedan, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Rapid. Production capacity is 225 thousand cars per a year.
