Trend in the number of bankruptcies is very sensitive primarily to the profits of companies. Meanwhile the occurred devaluation and other one-time factors boosted profitability of steel companies in 2015.
“A prerequisite to reduce the number of bankruptcies was the dynamics of the financial situation of companies. Just since the beginning of 2015 has been a sharp jump in profitability since the devaluation effect is captured primarily by the companies and not the public. Moreover, the company was still working on the old stocks purchased at the old prices,” – said the leading expert of the Center for macroeconomic analysis and short-term forecasting (CMASF) Vladimir Salnikov.
“Another thing – what will happen next, because it is unclear how easy it will be for enterprises to adapt to the new wave of devaluation. Still, with the growth of financial results is the contraction of markets for many companies that operate on the domestic market. The situation is now quite uncertain from the point of view of prospects for 2016”, – he said.
