Kudrin considers unrealistic a re-indexing of pension in 2016

MOSCOW, January 13. Re-indexation of pensions in 2016 is unrealistic at the current level of oil prices, said former Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin.

Re-indexation of pensions in 2016 in excess of 4 per cent from February 1 in the budget, but its timing and amount is not yet determined. Earlier, the Minister of labour Maxim Topilin said that the government will look at the situation.

“Chetyrehchastnaya indexation on 1 February will show how we can restore the level of pensions. The key point will be and how will inflation be consistent with the projections contained in the preparation of the budget, as may have to revise the budget,” – said Topilin.

“Given the fact that we can expect when the price of oil to $35 trillion about the lack of funds in the budget, I don’t quite feel like how can I (re) indexing. If the oil price is fixed at 35, I don’t see opportunities,” – said Kudrin.
