MOSCOW, 13 Jan. The speaker of the state Duma Sergey Naryshkin said Wednesday that he intends in June 2016 to visit Japan as part of the development of inter-parliamentary relations of the two countries.
“Overall we are satisfied with the state of our inter-parliamentary ties. I intend to continue to contribute to the development of our contacts, contacts between parliamentarians of our two countries, and in June I plan to visit Japan for the continuation of meetings with the leadership of the house of representatives of the Japanese Parliament and to participate in the opening of the next festival of Russian-Japanese culture in Japan,” Naryshkin said at a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the ruling liberal democratic party of Japan Masahiko Koumura.
The speaker of the state Duma paid a working visit to Tokyo in may 2015. Then he held meetings with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, with the leadership of the Parliament of Japan, participated in the opening ceremony of the Tenth Festival of Russian culture.
