In Ukraine, traders have started to reduce the price of gasoline and diesel fuel


The price decrease occurred in the number of petrol stations in the framework of the agreement of the traders that the price of gasoline and diesel fuel should react to falling oil prices within two weeks.

KYIV, 16 Jan. Some traders began reducing the price of gasoline and diesel fuel at gas stations, said on Saturday the press service of the Ministry of energy and coal industry of Ukraine.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Wednesday urged the head of the Ministry of energy jointly with the Antimonopoly Committee to meet with the key traders of the country to discuss the issue of reduction of prices on gasoline and diesel fuel in connection with the cheapening of oil on world markets. The Minister of energy and coal industry Volodymyr demchyshyn and key oil traders of Ukraine have agreed that the price of gasoline and diesel fuel must respond to falling oil prices within two weeks. Also demchyshyn said on Wednesday that gasoline prices, “based on all conditions, should be lower than for the hryvnia today, and in a month will be even further”.

“The results of market monitoring, which is conducted by the relevant analytical group of experts, a number of gas stations on 16 January at 00.00 (UTC + 1.00) early decline in the price of gasoline and diesel fuel… Reducing the reaction to the agreement of the traders that were reached at the meeting in the Ministry of energy and coal industry. There are prerequisites to what other players in the market in the next few days will join the trend of lower prices in response to cheaper oil,” the Agency reports in Facebook.

In particular the gas station “Ukrnafta”, “Sentosa”, “avias”, “Movex”, ANP, Marshal lowered the price of gasoline by 50 cents ($0.02) and the price of diesel fuel at 1.5 (0.06 dollars). Filling UPG has reduced the price of gasoline by 50 cents ($0.02), diesel fuel at 75 cents (0.03 USD).

During the meeting chaired by Minister of energy Vladimir Demchishin was also agreed to publish clear rules of formation of prices for fuel, clear and open for the consumer and the market.
