MOSCOW, 16 Jan. Iran has signed an agreement with French aircraft manufacturer Airbus for the purchase of 114 aircraft, informs on Saturday Agency Tasnim.
According to the Agency, the jets were purchased for the Iranian airline Iran Air engaged in international air traffic.
“In the past few months we have been negotiating with major aerospace companies in two main areas. One relates to the restoration and renewal of the air fleet of Iran. Here we made one big step by signing an agreement with French Airbus company for purchase of 114 aircraft”, — said the head of the Ministry of housing and urban Abbas Akhundi.
According to the Minister, the second direction is to update aviaflot other companies of Iran, engaged in commercial transportation in the country.
As previously reported by the IRNA news Agency that Iran planned to upgrade its air fleet by purchasing new aircraft at the two largest global companies Boeing and Airbus. The negotiations have been with the Russian aircraft manufacturers.
