“Gazprom” sees no obstacles for the implementation of the “Nord stream-2”


The project “Northern stream-2” involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the coast of the Russian Federation through the Baltic sea to Germany. “Gazprom” in this project will be owned 50%.

St. PETERSBURG, 18 Jan. The construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2” is implemented with a perspective of 20-25 years, and Gazprom sees no obstacles for its implementation, has declared to journalists by the Chairman of the Board of “Gazprom” Alexander Medvedev.

“These projects are not made with a horizon of one-two-three years, and with the horizon of 20-25 years. Any events that could undermine this project, we do not see”, — said Medvedev, answering the question of whether the fall in oil prices affect the implementation of the project.

Gazprom will own 50%, BASF, E. ON, Engie, OMV, Shell — 10% in the project. The new pipeline is planned to be built close to the “Nord stream”.
