The head of Ministry of Ukraine Volodymyr demchyshyn reported that the recent gas purchases by Ukraine in Europe passed at the price of 190 dollars per thousand cubic meters.

KYIV, 19 Jan. Recent gas purchases by Ukraine in Europe passed at the price of 190 dollars per thousand cubic meters, told journalists the head of Ministry of Ukraine Volodymyr demchyshyn.

Kiev is not currently buys Russian gas, and the authorities expressed the view that the country will be able to pass the current winter without gas purchases from Russia due to accumulation of gas reserves in underground storage facilities and the procurement of fuel in Europe. Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk on 10 January said that Ukraine will not buy gas from Russia at the proposed price in 212,23 dollars per thousand cubic meters, because in Europe she buys cheaper.

“We buy gas in Europe. The last transaction was for 190 dollars, which is significantly lower than “Gazprom” offered”, — said demchyshyn.

According to him, Ukraine has sufficient reserves of gas and coal. “At the moment the resource is sufficient in all directions, the gas reserves are sufficient. Today was 12,150 billion cubic meters (reserves in UGS — ed.)”, — said the Minister, noting, however, that the consumption of gas has increased.

“Everything you need to raise from the vaults — raise”, — said demchyshyn, adding, moreover, that in early February has yet to arrive vessel with imported coal.
