State Duma to review Russian environmental legislation

MOSCOW, 19 Jan. The state Duma will review the environmental legislation of Russia in preparation with the Year of ecology, which announced for the 2017 year, said the speaker of the lower house of the Russian Parliament Sergey Naryshkin.

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has declared 2017 as the year of ecology in Russia to attract attention of society to issues of environmental development of the country, the conservation of biological diversity and ensure environmental security.

“With the announcement in 2017, the year of the environment and taking into account the other factors we need to develop a deep analysis of the state of our environmental laws,” said Naryshkin, opening the spring session of the state Duma.

According to him, special attention should be given and the scientific and educational policy, as advanced technology, quick-impact and economic growth, “are created by those who are already at school receives a high-quality knowledge”.
