MOSCOW, 20 Jan. First Deputy foreign Minister Vladimir Titov and Ambassador of Norway leidulv namtvedt discussed prospects of relations between the two countries and signed the document, increasing the area of facilitated cross-border movement, according to the Russian foreign Ministry.
“During the meeting, the sides also discussed prospects of development of Russian-Norwegian relations and practical cooperation in key areas, interaction in regional formats in Northern Europe and in the Arctic, current international issues,” — said the foreign Ministry.
The diplomats also signed a Protocol on amendments to the Annex to the agreement of 2010 on the facilitation of mutual trips of residents of border territories of Russia and Norway, which distributes the contract to the entire territory of the settlement of the Norwegian Neiden.
“Thus extending the area of operation of the simplified regime of local border movement. It is important that this is, in particular, provides possibility of visa-free visits by residents of our border regions to the memorable places associated with the liberation by the red Army in Northern Norway from Nazi invaders in 1944”, — stated in the message.
