MOSCOW, 20 Jan. Iranian investors can participate in the construction of innovative wholesale food centre in Nizhny Novgorod (NIPC), the total cost of which amounts to 7 billion rubles, said the Executive Director of the National Association of wholesale-distribution centers (NORC) Vladimir Lishchuk.

According to him, the project was discussed on 19 January with representatives of state structures and business of Iran during the meeting in chamber of Commerce and industry of the Russian Federation, organized the Russian-Iranian business Council. The next meeting with the Iranian representatives are scheduled in Moscow in the framework of the International exhibition of food “Prodexpo 2016” 8-12 February this year, where representatives of NORC expect the adoption of decision on participation in project investment.

“The government of the Nizhny Novgorod region the project NIPC to give a priority status allocated land plot with an area of 67 hectares, the initiators developed and approved business plan. Construction of the first phase, valued at 2 billion rubles, is scheduled for completion in summer 2017. The building area of the logistics centre in Nizhny Novgorod is 57 thousand square meters. We expect that the turnover will amount to 400 thousand tons per year. In the future we plan the extension of ORC,” said Lishchuk.

According to him, this logistics center Iranian manufacturers can more effectively deliver their products to Russia. It is expected that, in order to implement the program of import substitution, in addition to Russian producers, through wholesale distribution center in Nizhny Novgorod will be to sell their products producers from Azerbaijan and countries of the EEU.

The national Association of wholesale-distribution centers established in the summer of 2015 and brings together the CBR, the Russian agricultural producers, representatives of trade organizations and agribusiness companies. The President of the Association is the first Deputy head of the agrarian Committee of the Federation Council, formerly known businessman in the field of agriculture Sergey Lisovsky.
