Tehran admitted the possibility of construction of a gas pipeline to Europe

Moscow. January 20. In Tehran do not exclude the possibility of building a pipeline to supply gas to Europe, said Wednesday the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanai.

“The fact that Iran, as an exporter of oil and gas, discusses different options and markets for sure,” said Sanai on air of TV channel “Russia 24”, answering the question whether Tehran to build a gas pipeline to Europe.

“But the fact that there are certain decisions I do not know”, – the diplomat added. Sanai noted that “this requires investment and other preconditions”.

He also expressed the hope that the gas industry is “one of the spheres in which Russia and Iran can cooperate.”

The Ambassador also said that Iran’s output in the global oil market has no significant effect on oil prices. He reiterated the position of Tehran on the need to reduce oil production, calling “unacceptable” the current drop in oil prices.

“I hope that the presence of Iran gives a new impetus to cooperation in this respect and in OPEC, with Russia and with other countries”, said Sanai.
